I Resolute so haard!!
Okay, I mentioned this placebo effect that is part and parcel of the new year. Basically, we feel as though the changing of calendars, turning that page from December to January actually gives us carte blanche, a new beginning. So, with this new year, we often try our utmost to keep the slate clean for as long as possible. And boy, do we have a new year with twenty ten ney, A NEW DECADE. HELLO?! It's insane to think that just ten years ago we were all huddled away in bomb shelters with our bottled water and newly purchased power generators, fingers crossed that our Windows Millennium edition PCs would survive Y2K unscathed. We've come so far.
Anyway, tangents aside, I do make an effort to, at the very least, set a few goals for the new year. Things I want to accomplish in the next, not so much the make my life better sorta thing. Honestly, I try to do that everyday. Sad, but true. But here are a few more things I really want to scratch off ye old to-do list this year:
-finish up drafts of last years lingering projects (nano novel//screenplay)
-write new screenplay
-write new novel
-finish KC:'TIL I DIE
-write/record/perform-share new music (I've always written and recorded music, but never let anyone hear it)
-get art in a gallery show
-travel somewhere I haven't been yet
-perhaps get a motor vehicle license of some sort (yeah, I'm so punk I have no license)
-take more photos.
These aren't in any particular order, nor are they anything too spectacularly removed from what I usually do anyway (also, some of this stuff is already a work in progress)... so take what you will from that.
I'll revisit the list in 350days or so. See Arthur Fail.
