5000

Alright... I'm outtie. Audi 5000.

Whatever. I'll be gone for a week, and probably won't have internet access, as I'll be on an island somewhere, getting sick from drinking the water. But, in theory, that's better than staying where you live. Right?

When I get back, the second week of July, I'll start posting some new KC:Overture comics, which is now going to appear online first! Then In August, the brand new KC story entitled 'Til I Die will start on Transmission-X.com!

Talk to y'all soon!

"Sometimes, life never goes the way it's planned."

Yes, I'm quoting myself. One of my characters, to be precise. Lame, but at this point in time, truer words have never been spoken.

My trip to NYC for the Museum of Cartoon and Comic Art's Festival was great. Saw old friends, met new ones, enjoyed the city... all good.

I had planned to start previewing a brand new Kissing Chaos story on this blog sometime this week. It's called 'Til I Die, and will be a regular instalment of the online comic anothology Transmission-X.com. We sort of had a soft launch last week, with a few comics online. We are justing the site, making sure we work out the kinks before a big launch later this summer. That preview, and the launch of this new story will be delayed.

But all is not lost, this doesn't mean new KC comics aren't hitting the internet very soon!

I've been slowly working on a book I planned to self published called Kissing Chaos: Overture. You may have noticed that a musician/DJ friend of mine, THE LOGICAL had created a soundtrack inspired by the comic. (I mentioned this in a previous post). Well, it has recently come to my attention that due to various circumstances, none of which I can go into an detail, I can't self publish this book anytime soon. I don't want all of THE LOGICAL's hard creative work to go to waste, or even have to delay the release of the CD (which was to coincide with the release of the Overture book) any more than it has, so I've decided to postpone the 'Til I Die story, and release Overtures in it's place.

So, there you have it. New Kissing Chaos comics are still coming online very shortly. First Overtures, and as soon as that's complete, 'Til I Die. And of course, listen to the Overture soundtrack whilst you enjoy the comic for free online!!

Okay. That's all for now. I must draw.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK!

Originally published at www.mydestroyer.com. You can comment there.

I'll be hitting NYC for MOCCA this weekend, June 23-24th. It should be a blast. If you're in town visit me at my table and get a t-shirt, or my artbook, or some KC back issues if you're missing anything from your collection! I won't have a new minicomic done in time for the show... sorry! I've been swamped trying to get the brand new KC story ready for FREE ONLINE consumption.

This will all happen sometime in the month of June. TRANSMISSION-X, an online comics anthology featuring a new KC story, and other cool stuff from my local Toronto comic peoples will be hitting the WWW very soon, I just don't know when exactly. But I will be previewing the new KC story next week here for all y'all, so keep it locked to this blog and kissingchaos.com!

I probably won't post anything till I get back from NYC next week, but you bet your ass it will be new KC comics!!!

hy can't I sleep?

Why, all of a sudden, does 3 hours of sleep feel like a full nights worth?

This is not hypothetical. I just woke up around 3 am Toronto time, and I swear, as I lay in bed, I thought it has to be at least 5 am.

I should take this as a sign from the heavens that I should get some work done. nahh.

I'm still undecided on the feasibility of my finishing a new mini comic in time for Mocca, which is next week. I'm knee deep in getting this new KC story ready, which should be debuting online sometime this month. I'm kind of at the whim of whenever the Transmission X website (the online webcomic anthology of local Toronto artists) launches, which is supposed to be this month. I'm thinking of screwing them and putting up the new KC stuff before they launch, but we'll see...

The Paradise Toronto Comicon last weekend was a nice event. The attendance was a bit low when compared to last years event, but it was still fun to hang with my buds and run into the odd friend from years gone by.

Sending out some ART BOMBS this week, and if you don't know what those are, check the store!

I'm a fan of serial killer flicks, and MR. BROOKS ain't no slouch. I recommend!

And I've been listening to "We intertwined" by the Hush Sound over and over. It's a catchy little ditty.

my next post should have some art!

peace

KISSING CHAOS soundtrack

Originally published at www.mydestroyer.com. You can comment there.

Check it out!

KISSING CHAOS: OVERTURES is a book of remixed short stories, with all new artwork and text. This book is slated for completion by the end of the summer. OVERTURES is being produced in collaboration with The Logical, a fiercely talented DJ producer from New York. When he melted my brain with his jazzy, hip hop and industrial sound scapes, I knew he had the right skills to produce a moody score for the up and coming OVERTURE book.

And that he did.

For anyone that knows me, I'm a huuuge David Lynch fan. And music has always played a huge role in the mood and aesthetic in his films. The man responsible for the scores of some of Lynch's key works is Angelo Badalamenti. Google his name and you'll see it'll pop up almost everywhere they review a Lynch film.

Kissing Chaos is no stranger to the influence of David Lynch. And when I started hearing the tracks The Logical was producing for the soundtrack, his work seemed very influenced by Badalamenti. I didn't even have to offer any direction, or say, this is what I want... it just happened. As if it was fate!

Rather than waiting for my slow ass to finish the OVERTURE book to release the score, we decided to give everyone a taste of the music right away! So head on over to the official myspace for the KISSING CHAOS:OVERTURE soundtrack. Check it out. Be our friend and tell your friends. Let us know what you think.

When I finally finish the book, it will be available with the soundtrack in a limited edition package!

This is the first in what I hope to be many musical experiments for Kissing Chaos. Stay tuned!

convention!

Originally published at www.mydestroyer.com. You can comment there.

No updates recently, my bad. Or good. I'm working on the new KC stuff for the online webcomic consortium known as Transmission X. I've been bad, and not really gone to any meetings recently, so I'm sorta out of the loop. All I know is I'm working on new KC stuff, and it should be online sometime this month!

Also, I'm insanely sick. It's been years since I've been hit this bad with... whatever it is. So, there's a chance I may miss some of the convention this weekend.

Oh, yeah, did I mention? There's convention this weekend in Toronto. It's the TORONTO COMICCON, run by the good folks at Paradise Comics, in... Toronto!

I should be there, barring the failure of my innate ability to slowly heal myself. I'll be selling old shirts, and my IT HURTS TO LOOK AT YOU art book, as well as all the classic KC books and doin sketches. The purpose of this year's convention appearances is mainly to pimp the new KC material that will be online exclusively!

hope to see you this weekend!

ah, ye old circle pit...

...how I've missed you!

This past weekend, I had the chance to see some of my fave bans of recent memory perform in Toronto. First up was the Pipettes! I love them. Monster Bobby, who is their main song writer is a genius, and it was awesome to see him warm up the stage for the Pipettes.

Saturday night was so full of awesomeness. I saw Protest the Hero and All That Remains and a bunch of other bands that have set my ears ringing. PTH is one of my absolute faves of the last few years, and they are pretty much local, which makes them that much more fun to see.

I took some crappy vids of them singing my favorite tracks, and posted them on Youtube. (something I had never done ever, until now!) The Pipettes videos are particularly visually horrible, as one can't shoot perfect video while dancing!

Yes, I realize the Pipettes, and PTH are on opposite ends of the musical spectrum, but whatevs. Good music is good music!

The Pipettes singing Pull Shapes. One of my fave songs to be released last year!

The circle pit during All That Remains

Protest singing my favorite song of theirs, Turn Soonest to the Sea. Check out the crowd sing along about 3:20 into it. Amazing Song.
